Drivers sought for a "Veterans" shuttle bus service

A veterans service officer is looking for drivers from the Trenton area to receive training to operate a shuttle van that will be based in Trenton.

The van, as announced late last week, will be used to transport veterans to regional V-A
facilities. Wayne Kleinschmidt said once enough volunteers come forward, a group can be car-pooled to Kansas City to receive the training FREE of charge.

The training is completed in one day. Persons interested in being a driver of the V-A shuttle van are to contact Wayne Kleinschmidt of Trenton. Phone 359-2078.

Drivers do not have to be a veteran but they will be required to pass a physical. Once enough drivers are trained, Kleinschmidt indicated the shuttle bus can be brought to Trenton and be available for transporting—free of charge—local Grundy county and area veterans who go to V-A facilities in Kansas City, Columbia, Kirksville, Des Moines, and Leavenworth.
