Farm-Pac trustees reaffirm support of Todd Akin

The Missouri Farm Bureau says Farm-Pac trustees have again voted overwhelmingly to support Republican Todd Akin for United States Senate. The Farm Bureau said telephone conference calls held September 5th through the 11th included trustees representing 104 of Missouri's counties, finishing with votes to support Congressman Akin, with results similar to the original endorsement on August 10th.
Although the specific amount was not announced, a two-thirds vote is needed for a Farm-Pac endorsement.

Missouri Farm Bureau President Blake Hurst said that some members brought up Akin's August statement regarding abortion. However, Hurst said that members accepted the apology that followed and reaffirmed that this election is about issues such as "moving the nation in a better direction", "getting the federal deficit under control", "eliminating needless government regulations", and "creating more jobs".
