|In a game at Princeton that involved 17 errors between the two teams, it was a five error inning by the host Lady Tigers in the top of the seventh that proved costly, with Milan winning on the road by a score of 5-3.|
Princeton, as a team, committed 11 errors in the loss, dropping the Lady Tigers record to 5-4 overall, and 3-1 in the Grand River Conference. Emily Schwenneker had two hits and scored two runs for Princeton, while Nancy Berwanger and Schwenneker each had three stolen bases.
For Milan, Hannah Sanders was 2 for 4 with two runs scored (with one of her hits a double), Alyssa Forster 1 for 4 with an RBI, Kyley Doak with a double on a 1 for 4 night with a run and an RBI, while Kaylee Michael was 2 for 3 with two runs scored.
Princeton had scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game at 3, as Shaylee Henley hit a lead-off triple and was driven home on an RBI single by Trinity Kile.
The JV game went Milan's way by a score of 11-10, dropping Princeton's record to 2-2. Princeton will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday night, playing host to the Maysville Lady Wolverines.
The loss by the Princeton varsity continued a recent downturn for the Lady Tigers, who lost 12-3 on Thursday night at King City (the first GRC loss of the season for Princeton).
Other softball finals, from Thursday, September 6th, were:
Knox County 8, Milan 0
Gallatin 4, Stanberry 0
Smithville 3, Cameron 0
Chillicothe 9, Savannah 2
Lawson 7, East Buchanan 0
Hamilton 9, Maysville 4
Benton 5, Maryville 2
LeBlond 14, Lafayette 2
North Platte 9, West Platte 0
Mid-Buchanan 8, Lathrop 2

Meadville 12, Bucklin 6
Here is the write-up from the Knox County/Milan game:
The Knox County Eagles beat the Milan Wildcats 8-0 in a Tri-Rivers conference softball game played Thursday night at Legion Field in Milan.
Alyssa Forster pitched all seven innings for the Lady 'Cats, giving up only two EARNED runs (out of eight allowed), as the Milan defense struggled with six errors over the course of the night.
Kyley Doak led the Milan offense against Knox County with a pair of doubles in three at-bats, while Hannah Sanders was 2 for 3, and Forster 2 for 3. Maybe the most-damaging stat of the night for MHS was TEN runners left stranded, leaving the girls a frustrated group by the end of the night.
Milan played four games on Saturday, September 8th at the Putnam County Tournament, and despite playing "well" according to Head Coach Nathan Dodson, the Lady 'Cats could not get enough offense going to find the win column. Milan was defeated by Brookfield 2-0, South Harrison 8-1, Putnam County 6-3, and Clark County 7-0. Those four losses, combined with the road win at Princeton on Monday night, leaves the Lady 'Cats season record at 5-8.
Coach Dodson told PAR Broadcast Group Sports Director Tom Johnson that the Lady 'Cats are attempting to set up a game on Thursday night at home against the Trenton Lady Bulldogs. Both teams have the night off and are looking for an additional game. The issue that would keep this game from becoming "official" appears to be Milan attempting to find an umpiring crew to do the game.
