Trenton and Carrollton men injured in Monday night accidents

A Brimson man was injured early Monday evening in a single vehicle accident at the western edge of Trenton. The Highway Patrol said 24 year old Rodney Hughs received MODERATE injuries.
He was taken by a private vehicle to Wright Memorial Hospital. Hughs was westbound on West Crowder Road, approaching the barricaded portion of the Charlie Dye Bridge. His truck crossed the center of the road, started skidding, and struck the barricade.
The truck came to a stop facing west ON the Charlie Dye Bridge. Trenton Police assisted the Highway Patrol at the scene of the accident about 5:45 Monday evening. The truck received extensive damage. The Patrol said Hughs was not wearing a seat belt.
In Carroll county last night, the Highway Patrol said 41 year old Edward Gunn of Carrollton received MODERATE injuries when his vehicle swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle ran off the left side of Highway 65 and struck several road signs. That vehicle came to a stop in a ditch and was demolished.

Gunn was taken to Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton. He was not wearing a seat belt according to the patrol report, concerning the Monday night accident, occurring at approximately 10:50 on U-S 65, north of Carroll County Road 260.
