Volunteer efforts by three fire departments raised money locally for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Members of the Trenton Fire Department, Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District, and the Galt Fire Department conducted the annual “Boot Drive” this past weekend in Trenton.
Spokesman Jeremy Summers said 32 hundred dollars was collected. The firefighters positioned themselves at major intersections in Trenton
on parts of Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

The MDA Show of Strength is an annual televised benefit concert held each Labor Day Weekend in the United States to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The program is the successor to the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon, an annual telethon that ran until 2010.
