The Princeton Lady Tigers played their best softball game of the season to date on Thursday night at Gallatin High School, riding the shutout four-hit pitching of sophomore Chelsie Jones and an equally strong defensive effort to a 3-0 Grand River Conference victory.
The Princeton offense managed to scrape three runs across the plate against Gallatin sophomore right-hander Sara Lin. Senior shortstop Nancy Berwanger had two hits and Trinity Kile continued her hot hitting for the Lady Tigers, backing up her 4-for-4 performance against Albany on Tuesday night with two hits at Gallatin on Thursday night, including a two-run double in the forth inning, scoring Rachelle Parks and Rebecca Phillips.

Jones helped her own cause with two hits in three at-bats. Two of the Princeton RBI's on the night came of Kile's bat, with Shaylee Henley earning the other RBI with a double on a 1 for 4 evening.

Jones struck out five Gallatin batters while the Princeton defense, an Achilles Heel for the Tigers over the first week of the season, showed up strong, committing only one error. Lin took the tough-luck loss for Gallatin, giving up three runs on eight hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
