NCMC Foundation announces 2012 Class of "Distinguished" Alumni

|The North Central Missouri College Foundation has announced its newest class of distinguished alumni. Cathy Bailey and Steve Maxy, both of Trenton; Patricia Mertens of Ironton; and Dennis Walker from Fulton are to be inducted at the foundation's ninth annual Gala on Saturday, October 13th at the Ketcham Community Center.|
Cathy Bailey began attending Trenton Junior College in 1978. She took classes over the summers in Trenton while attending Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. Mrs. Bailey has held several positions with Modine Manufacturing since beginning work there in 1983, and has managed the Trenton plant since 2000. Cathy and her husband, Kevin, their three sons and a daughter-in-law all attended TJC or NCMC.
Steve Maxey is a 1968 graduate of Trenton Junior College. Most recently, he served eleven years with NCMC as Development Director, Public Relations, and with the foundation. Earlier he worked for Green Hills Community Action Agency, the Grundy County Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Mercantile Bank, and Lodge of the Four Seasons. Steve and his wife, Shirley, and their two sons, are alumni of NCMC in Trenton.
Patricia Mertens of Ironton graduated from TJC in 1964. She has worked at public and school libraries, and was a teacher and principal at Ironton Middle School. Mrs. Mertens retired in 2007.
Dennis Walker of Fulton attended TJC in 1964 and 1965. He retired from the rail transportation industry in 2005. During his career, Walker worked his way up to the positions of President and General Manager of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Beltline. Walker also served in the U.S. Naval Academy, including work in security.
The North Central Missouri College Foundation's Gala on Saturday, October 13th is called "Reflecting on the Past, Realizing the Future". Information about the event is available at the Foundation office in Trenton.
