North Missouri 4-H and FFA youth have the opportunity to test their livestock knowledge at the NW 4-H and FFA Regional Livestock Contest.
This event will be held in Chillicothe at the Litton Agri-Science Center on September 1st (Highway 190 West). Chillicothe Agriculture Instructor Lance Martin will be the feature judge for the event.

This is a competition, but youth will also have the opportunity to hone their judging abilities. Our judge will give the official placings and discuss judging techniques with youth as a teaching tool. All skill levels will be present, novice judgers are encouraged to come and learn.

The top Jr. and Sr. team of four will receive a plaque in addition to the top three junior and senior judging members.

The contest will be based on the State 4-H Livestock Judging competition format. The species to be judged will include beef, sheep, goats, and swine. They will be six classes for youth to judge.

The North Missouri Livestock Contest is open to all 4-H and FFA youth ages 8-18. Project leaders, advisors, and adults are welcome.

Registration will be from 7:45 8:15 a.m. and judging will be over by approximately 11:30 with awards to follow. The cost for the event is $5.00 by August 29th and $7.00 on the day of the contest.
