Kirksville plane crash injures Lee's Summit man

A small plane attempting to land at the Kirksville Regional Airport crashed on Monday afternoon, injuring the pilot, identified as a Lee's Summit man, Ted Bower. Bower, according to media reports, lost control of his plane in the process of landing, breaking the front landing gear. The plane skidded into a grassy area off the runway.
Bower was transported by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center with injuries described as 'minor'. He has since been released. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash at 12:20 yesterday (Monday) afternoon.
