| A woman arrested in Milan earlier this year is facing multiple charges following the death of her newborn baby more than ten years ago. Documents viewed on-line show 29-year old Amy Romero is charged (following a grand jury investigation) with first, second and third degree murder, second degree manslaughter, neglect of a child and endangering a child.
All the charges are felonies. Her trial date is in September (the 11th) in Minnesota. She was a Milan resident when arrested.
According to the Sibley County, Minnesota Sheriff's Office, it is alleged that in 2001, Romero gave birth to a baby girl at her Sibley County residence. Investigators say she caused the baby's death by taking her out to a wooded area and leaving her there.
