Motorists advised of continuing work on Iowa Boulevard

Date 2012/8/1 11:30:00 | Topic: Road Work

The Trenton Street Department continues to work on improvements to Iowa Boulevard. The focus, starting tomorrow (Thursday) shifts to shoulder work along the new asphalt overlay.
That is because of what Street Supervisor
Larry Griffin calls a “drop off” on both sides of the new surface. Therefore, the shoulder work along Iowa Boulevard is scheduled during
the morning hours only, for a period of five business days.

The work is planned up until 12 noon (during the morning hours) on Thursday and Friday, and then continuing on next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The current hot temperatures and new asphalt will restrict the shoulder works to the morning hours.

During those days, Iowa Boulevard will be open to ONE lane of traffic with flaggers present. There also could be time delays due to equipment moving along the road. Motorists are reminded to use extra caution when traveling Iowa Boulevard. There will be “open trench” signs posted along Iowa Boulevard to alert motorists to the shoulder work.
