Unionville couple injured in Monday morning wreck

A Unionville couple was injured yesterday (Monday) when, the Highway Patrol said, they attempted a turn from a private drive and drove into the path of a tractor trailer.

The accident occurred on Highway 5, one mile north of U-S Highway 136. Taken to Putnam county memorial hospital in Unionville were the driver,
82 year old Barbara Neighbors with minor injuries and passenger, 88 year old Benny Neighbors, with SERIOUS injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer, 45 year old Randall Ballanger of Green Castle, was not hurt. The car was demolished while the big truck had minor damage. All three people were using seat belts.
