A Trenton man lost his life yesterday (Friday) while crop dusting in rural Randolph County. Thirty-six year old Brad Hammond was killed in a small plane accident. Arrangements are pending at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton.
The Columbia Daily Tribune says that the accident occurred just past 11:30 on Friday morning, just north of Huntsville near the small community of Darkville.

A crop-duster was found on fire when emergency crews arrived on the scene. Randolph County Sheriff Mark Nichols told the Daily Tribune that a small plane "appeared to have clipped the top of a tree, causing it to lose control and crash to the ground".

The crop-dusting plane was stationed out of Dalton (in Chariton County).

Brad Hammond is survived locally by his parents, Steve and Linda Hammond of Trenton, a son – Colton Hammond of Trenton, his girfriend – Jennifer Anderson of Buckland, two sisters – Cheri Gross and Anita Osborn – both of Trenton, and his grandmother – Kathy Hammond of Spickard.
