A Bucklin man, 36-year old Michael Simpson, suffered injuries described as minor by the Highway Patrol, after being involved in a two-vehicle accident in rural Linn County, ten miles north of Marceline on Route U.
The Highway Patrol said that a vehicle pulling a trailer of hay was being driven by 27-year old William Ostermann of Brunswick. That vehicle had its load shift, sending a hay bale into a vehicle being driven by 55-year old Nina Simpson of New Boston. Both of those drivers apparently escaped injury.

Simpson was a passenger in the Simpson vehicle. He was taken by Linn County ambulance to Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield for treatment. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, while the Patrol said the two uninjured people were wearing safety devices. The accident occurred at 20 minutes past 11 o'clock yesterday (Friday) morning.
