Rural Livingston County shooting kills 79-year old man

Between 6 and 7 o'clock on Thursday morning, the Livingston County Sheriff's Department learned of a shooting in the southwestern portion of the county, near a residence on LIV-430 with a "Rural Braymer" address.
Sheriff Steve Cox said investigation revealed a 79 year old man allegedly removed a shotgun from the basement of his residence and fatally shot himself "outside the home". The name of the deceased man has not yet been released.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Department was assisted in the investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Coroner Scott Lindley, and the Chillicothe Deparment of Emergency Services.
