The Highway Patrol says a Carrollton man received SERIOUS injuries when the John Deere Gator utility vehicle he was operating hit the rear of a towed unit on a rural road near Carrollton. Fifty-nine year old David Grimpo of Carrollton was flown by medical helicopter to North Kansas City Hospital.
The driver of a car pulling the towed vehicle, 28 year old Edward Warren of Carrollton, was not reported hurt. The Patrol said the accident was Saturday evening on County Road 282, just east of County Road 317.

Both vehicles were westbound, and both demolished as a result of the collision. The Patrol said Warren was wearing a seat belt, but Grimp was not using a safety device.
