Putnam County accident injures two men

Two people were hurt when a small utility vehicle overturned northwest of Unionville late Sunday afternoon. The driver, 66 year old Hubert Anderson of Pleasant Valley, and an occupant, 59 year old Larry Caras of Excelsior Springs, received what the Highway Patrol called SERIOUS injuries.
Caras was flown by medical helicopter to Liberty Hospital. Anderson was taken to Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville. The accident was nine miles northwest of Unionville on Black Jack Trail.

The Patrol said the John Deere Gator utility vehicle traveled off the road and overturned onto the passenger side of the vehicle. Neither men was wearing a safety device.
