| North Central Missouri College administrators have announced the hiring of Megan Cairns as the new women's softball coach at the Trenton two-year school, replacing Kristin Boyes, who resigned this spring after only one season at NCMC. Megan Cairns is a graduate of Oak Park High School in the Kansas City area, who played collegiately at Evangel University in Springfield (as a first baseman) from 2006 to 2010.
Since 2010, she has been an assistant coach at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico, where she earned a master's degree in Physical Education. She earned a bachelor's degree in International and Multicultural Studies from Evangel.
In addition to her softball coaching duties at North Central, Cairns will be a "full-time tenured track instructor" in health and physical education.
