Teen falls asleep, drives off Daviess County road

A teenage girl from Altamont was injured early today when, according to the Highway Patrol, her car traveled off U-S Highway 69, struck an embankment, and overturned onto its top.
The Patrol said 18 year old Jasmine Swearingin of Altamont received MODERATE injuries and was taken by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The accident occurred five miles north of Altamont about 2:10 this morning. The patrol investigator said the driver apparently fell asleep. The car was demolished. The driver was wearing a seat belt.
