Farmers Electric Cooperative General Manager Mike Sanders has told members of the cooperative it looks like a rate increase will be needed next year. Sanders indicated it would be later this year before the cooperative knows how much of a rate increase it will experience.
FEC then will determine how much of that increase to pass on to its members. During the annual meeting of FEC, Sanders said that, for the third straight year, a rate increase did not have to be explained to members, but it does look like there will be an increase next year.

About 1,000 people attended the annual meeting, held on the evening of Tuesday, June 5th in Chillicothe. Three members of the Board of Directors were elected to three year terms. They are Warren Hoyt from the Livingston and Grundy County area, Ronnie Cornett from the Daviess, Harrison, Gentry, and DeKalb region, and Richard Anderson from the Carroll and Lafayette County territory.
