A man from Shawnee, Kansas was injured in Caldwell County when the westbound SUV he was driving was hit in the rear on Highway 36, crossed the median and the eastbound lanes, and overturned. Fifty-three year old Mark Specklin was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with injuries described as minor by the Highway Patrol.
The accident was late Saturday morning on Highway 36 near Kidder. The Patrol said Specklin was westbound in the passing lane when his SUV was rear-ended by a car driven by 26-year old Ashley McMaster of Carrollton. The SUV then crossed both the median and the eastbound lanes and overturned, coming to rest on its top.

The other vehicle came to rest on a westbound shoulder. Both vehicles were demolished and both people were wearing seat belts. Miss McMaster was not reported hurt.
