THE PROFILE ON BRICE GARNETT SHOWS HE HAS BEEN PLAYING ON THE NATIONWIDE TOUR—DESCRIBED AS A DEVELOPMENTAL LEAGUE FOR THE P-G-A. SO FAR THIS YEAR, GARNETT HAS SURVIVED THE CUT IN SEVEN OUT OF EIGHT EVENTS WITH ONE TOP TEN FINISH. LAST YEAR, ON THE NATIONWIDE GOLF TOUR, BRICE GARNETT MADE THE CUT SIX TIMES OUT OF NINE EVENTS..
WITH ONE FINISH AS HIGH AS SECOND PLACE.
On Monday, Garnett won a U-S Open,Sectional qualifying tournament, held in Springfield, Ohio. His score after two rounds of golf was 131 or nine under par. (He shot 66 on the first 18 holes and 65 the second time around.) Garnett won the event by one stroke over a golfer from Fort Worth, Texas.
Brice Garnett has never played in a major, much less a PGA Tour-sanctioned event. He will be among those competing when the U-S Open is held June 14th to the 17th in San Francisco.
