Two all-terrain vehicles collided on Sunday afternoon eight miles west of Princeton, injuring three people. The Highway Patrol described injuries as SERIOUS for 22 year old Lacey Edwards of Hamilton, who was flown by medical helicopter to North Kansas City Hospital. She was a passenger on an ATV driven by 22 year old John Whitsell of Clarksdale.
Whitsell received MODERATE injuries in the accident and was taken by ambulance to Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany. The operator of the second ATV, 23 year old Stephen Farr of Stewartsville, received minor injuries and declined treatment.

The Patrol said both ATV's were northbound on Holly Road in rural Mercer County when one made an abrupt turn in front of the other. The impact caused the ATV with two occupants to overturn, throwing Whitsell and Edwards to the ground. Damage was extensive to their ATV with none apparent to the one operated by Farr. The report noted none of the three people were using a safety device.
