
American Legion Post 25 "Cardinals" open baseball season

| The American Legion Post 25 Cardinals, on Wednesday night, beat Millhouse by a score of 4-1. Post 25 scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead. Millhouse scored in the top of the seventh for their only run in the game. At the plate, Austin Norris had a double, Cole Upton, Trey VanHoutan and Dustin Leeper all had singles with Troy Toedebusch getting an RBI. At the plate, Norris had the start with Justin VanHoutan in relief, both pitching 3 innings. Trenton Troyer pitched the final inning.
The American Legion Post 25 Junior Cardinals beat Millhouse by a score of 14-13. The visitors put six runs on the board in the first and two more in the second to jump out to an 8-0 lead. The Jr Cardinals battled back to score twice in the second, three in the third and seven in the fourth, then went on to win the marathon 7-inning game 14-13.
This year the American Legion Post will field two teams, a 17U team and a 19U team. Each team will play approximately 45 games both at Shaffer and Danner Park.
This year’s team is again made up of players from the surrounding area, which includes players from 12 different high school programs.
