Trenton's Isaiah Swann finishes third at district tennis

Trenton High School, competing in the District 16 INDIVIDUAL boy's tennis tournament on Friday at the Noyes Complex in St. Joseph, managed a third place singles finish from Isaiah Swann, while the doubles team of Nathanyl Bankson and Sam Muff settled for fourth place.
Singles player Austin Busch had a bye in the first round, but was bounced from the tournament in the quarterfinals by Billy Cook of St. Joseph Lafayette by a score of 6-1, 6-1.

Swann won his first round match over Zach McMillian of Lafayette by a score of 6-2, 6-2, and then rolled to a straight set quarterfinal win over Trevor Brown of St. Joseph Benton 6-4, 6-3. In the semifinals, Swann was defeated by eventual champion Brock Baade of Savannah 3-6, 1-6. Swann claimed the third place match by forfeit over Nolan Nadolski of Bishop LeBlond.

Trenton's doubles team of Bankson and Muff opened play with a come-from-behind victory over Snyder and Dougan of Maryville in the first round, 5-7, 6-4, 7-6, and then took a straight set win over Sommers and Talbot of Bishop LeBlond in the quarterfinals, 6-2, 6-4. In the semifinals, Bankson and Muff were beaten by Hadley and Guinn of Lafayette 3-6, 3-6. In the third place match, Day and Bates of Lafayette defeated the Trenton duo 5-8.

Trenton's doubles team of Karson Hill and Tyler Maberry beat LeBlond's Ford and Coffee in round one 6-1, 6-3, but were beaten in the quarterfinals by Walter and Bostwick of Maryville by a score of 1-6, 3-6.
