
Model train show coming to Marceline

| A model train show is coming to Marceline on Saturday May 5th. The show, which also includes railroad art and memorabilia, is scheduled from 9 o'clock until 3 o'clock Saturday in Walsworth Community Center, 124 East Ritchie at Marceline. Features include FOUR operating model train layouts from the Kansas City area. A Burlington Northern Santa Fe locomotive is to be on display and open for tours. Also planned are a couple of Fairmont Motor cars used for railroad track inspections.
The Odessa Optimist Club will have a miniature train for children to ride in Ripley Park for a small fee (weather permitting). The caboose in the city park also will be open to the public.
Two color Santa Fe prints are included in a raffle. Six Burlington Northern Santa Fe / wild life prints will be sold via silent auction.
There also are vendor tables; plus food and drinks. The cost is 20 dollars to set up a vendor table. Admission to Saturday's model train show at Marceline is three dollars PLUS one canned food item OR four dollars (without a food item). Children 12 and younger are admitted free with a paying adult. Proceeds will be donated to the local Food Pantry, the Boy Scout troop at Marceline, and the host: Walsworth Community Center.
