The driver, 17 year old Zachary Coin, and a passenger, 20 year old Joseph Guardipee, were taken by private vehicle to Sullivan County Memorial Hospital at Newtown with what the highway patrol called minor injuries.

The car was westbound on Route EE when it went off the right side of the road and hit the ditch---demolishing the vehicle.

Both persons were wearing seatbelts.

The patrol said Coin was accused of driving while intoxicated, being a minor visibly intoxicated, and careless and imprudent driving involving an accident.
