Trenton Students Attend National FCCLA Convention

More than seven thousand persons attended the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America national leadership conference at San Antonio, Texas last week.

Among them were Trenton Middle School students Werthen Gass, Jayden Roeder, and Ashten Whitaker---who participated in Star Event competitions at the conference.

Each of them received Gold medals.

Werthen Gass competed in the focus on children events. Her project focused on Family and Consumer Sciences skills to plan and conduct a child development project that has a positive impact on children and the community.

Ashten Whitaker and Jayden Roeder competed in the Environmental Ambassador event. It focused on environmental issues which adversely impact human health and well-being, and actively empower others to get involved.

The Trenton Middle School students' F-C-C-L-A advisor, Suzi Beck, also attended the national conference at San Antonio.

There was a record number of National Star event participants at San Antonio last week----over 42-hundred.

Star stands for Students Taking Action with Recognition.

The more than seven thousand persons attending the national leadership conference included members, advisers, alumni, and guests.
