|The City of Gallatin has been informed by the Missouri State Auditor's office that it will be conducting an audit of Gallatin after receiving enough signatures from Gallatin residents asking for an audit.|
The City of Gallatin will be responsible for the cost of the audit, which City Administrator, Zach Johnson, says is estimated at $35,000 to $50,000.
The Gallatin City Council, during a meeting Monday night, discussed a routine audit for the 2013 fiscal year conducted by Certified Public Accountant, Scott Stephens, of Chillicothe. City Administrator Johnson said no concerns were expressed in the review by Stephens.
The Gallatin Council also accepted a proposal by Stephens to conduct the routine audit for the 2014 fiscal year. The cost is not to exceed $5,500 plus out of pocket expenses.
