Early Morning Fire Destroys Pickup In Trenton

A report from the Trenton fire department said the vehicle was fully involved with fire when fire-fighters arrived on the scene at 14-23 Moberly Street.

Spokesman for the Trenton department, Eric Lorenz, identified the vehicle as a 2005 Chevy Silverado.

The owner, Daniel Myrick, said he had pulled up to park his vehicle outdoors. He turned off the engine, heard a pop, and saw flames coming from the engine compartment. The blaze, according to the fire department, was within a few feet of the garage. The fire caused some heat damage to the siding on the front of the garage. (the garage door was open)

The cause of the blaze is undetermined.

There were no injuries. The call to fire department came about 3 o'clock this morning.
