Wheeling Woman Injured In Accident At Macon

A woman from Wheeling was injured when, according to the highway patrol, the car she was riding in was struck in the side in a traffic accident yesterday afternoon at Macon.

The patrol described injuries as moderate for 61 year old Evelyn Evans of Wheeling. She was taken by ambulance to the Samaritan Hospital in Macon.

The car she was in was driven by 52 year old Scott Merrow of Wheeling.

The car was southbound on U-S 63 while another car was westbound on Lake Street. The second car, operated by 36 year old James Kirk of Macon, attempted to pull onto Highway 63 when the collision occurred.

Neither driver was injured. All persons were using seat belts.

Damage was listed as minor to both vehicles. The accident occurred a half mile north of Macon at 2:45 pm Monday.
