Daviess County Accident Injures Coffey Woman

A Coffey resident was injured in Daviess County when her car struck the rear of a pickup truck that had slowed to make a left turn.

The Highway Patrol described injuries as serious for 42-year old Karen Henderson of Coffey. She was taken by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. The driver of the car, 18-year old Jessica Henderson of Coffey, was not hurt. Also escaping injury was the driver of the pickup struck from behind, 67-year old Paul Caven of Gallatin.

Both the pickup and car were eastbound on Highway 6 when the collision occurred late Monday morning (11:40 AM), one mile to the east of Gallatin. Both vehicles were demolished. According to the accident report, Caven was using a seat belt. Karen Henderson was not, and it was unknown whether Jessica Henderson had her seat belt on.
