Administrator Phil Fox said the surplus is expected to be around $20,000 to $30,000. The Laredo Board meets the night of June 30th at 6 o'clock to close out the current budget and make final transfer adjustments.

Administrator Fox said a small budget surplus also is anticipated in the upcoming fiscal year---although he noted those figures are difficult to project right now.

The Laredo Board of Education Monday night accepted a bid from Ferrellgas of Chillicothe for propane. It's for nearly $1.43 a gallon for up to $12,000. It was the lowest of two bids received. Laredo school Administrator Fox said anything more than 12,000 gallons would have to be purchased on the spot market. However, he said, even with the cold temperatures this past winter, the Laredo district used about 10,300 gallons of propane.

The Laredo Board approved a bid from MFA of Trenton for diesel fuel at a cost of 2 cents less than the pump price. It was the only bid received.

The Laredo Board also voted to accept the only bid received for milk. It was from Prairie Farms.

The Laredo Board of Education approved Nationwide Insurance to offer student accident insurance. Families will have the option to purchase various coverage at the family's expense.
