Spickard Man Indicted On 5 Counts By Grand Jury

|A 53 year old Spickard man, Wendell Tharp, has been named in a 5 count indictment issued by a federal grand jury at Kansas City. |
According to the U. S. Attorney's Western Missouri District office, Tharp was indicted on charges accusing him with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine; conspiracy to commit money laundering; possessing firearms in relation to a drug trafficking crime; being an unlawful drug user or addict in possession of firearms and ammunition; and maintaining premises at Spickard for the use and distribution of methamphetamine and marijuana, all between January 1st of 2009 and May 20th of this year.
The indictment contains forfeiture provisions, including property and more than $39,000 in U. S. currency.
Tharp has been released from custody on $10,000 unsecured appearance bond. He is to be back in federal court next month.
