Spickard Board of Aldermen will hold the meeting on June 19th, at 5 o'clock, in the city hall.

The meeting was prompted after Spickard received notice of an increase in water rates from the Grundy County Public Water Supply District.

The rural water district, in turn, had received notice of an increase in water rates from its supplier, the city of Trenton. Input from the community is sought at the June 19th special meeting in Spickard.

At a meeting yesterday evening, the board of aldermen decided to have letters sent to persons believed to be in violation of a city ordinance for tall grass and weeds. The letters allow a certain number of days to get the properties mowed. A reminder was given that lawns need to be mowed to the traveled portion of the road.

The next regular meeting of the Spickard Aldermen is July 8th.
