Four Injured When Van Hits Deer On I-35 In Harrison County

The highway patrol says four persons received minor injuries when a deer went through the front windshield of a van on Interstate 35 in Harrison County.

The incident occurred Saturday morning eight miles south of Bethany. The southbound van hit the animal, which then went through the front windshield and came to rest in the front passenger compartment.

One of the passengers, 19 year old gunner Barton of Ames, Iowa was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital at Bethany.

The driver, 24 year old Admir Halilovic of Johnston, Iowa, and passengers, 24 year old
Ryan Braland of Ogden, Iowa and 33 year old Spencer Klunenberg from Altoona, Iowa were treated at the scene. All four individuals had minor injuries. Barton and Halilovic were wearing seatbelts, but the other 2 persons were not.

The van was extensively damaged.
