Hazmat Team Called To Chillicothe

A hazardous materials team was called to Chillicothe last night after authorities received the report of a suspicious odor contained inside a semi truck trailer. Original Image
The trailer had been parked at the loading dock for WalMart.

Information from the Chillicothe fire department says a WalMart employee opened the trailer door, smelled something suspicious and then a burning sensation in the eyes. The door was then shut to contain the odor. There was no leaking of any liquid from the trailer. The employee was taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe for evaluation. The trailer was towed away from the dock to a nearby lot when the haz mat team was to empty it and to try and find the source of the odor.

WalMart corporate had contacted the hazardous materials team in the Kansas City Metro area to respond to the Chillicothe situation. The report from Chillicothe firemen
concluded it was some type of sulpher odor.
