|Livingston County Sheriff's Department has been looking for a suspect and receiving tips from the public.|
Sheriff Steve Cox said 25 year old Jeremy Lee Orona of Chula is wanted on two Livingston County arrest warrants for alleged four felony violations including Burglary, Forgery and two counts of stealing a controlled substance. The sheriff said Orona is believed to be hiding in the Chillicothe area and may be in possession of stolen items such as checks.
The Livingston county sheriff's office is investigating the theft of a sports utility vehicle that may be tied to the search for a wanted felon. A release Thursday from Sheriff Steve Cox described the stolen vehicle as a 2004 Jeep Cherokee, brownish in color, with license plate of “5UM-675.”
It was taken from a rural Chula residence between 10 pm Wednesday night and 6 o'clock Thursday morning. The office also said it received information that the vehicle may have been spotted in the Jamesport area and that the license plate may have been altered, changed, or removed.
Authorities caution the public to not approach this man as he has previously been involved in a rural day time burglary where a citizen was shot at by one of the burglars. The suspect may also be using his brothers name of Jeremiah Orona.
The sheriff's office is involved with or assisting on additional investigations of alleged forgeries in both Livingston and Linn Counties.
Sheriff Cox stated Orona has allegedly fled and eluded officers and deputies in Chillicothe after being reported near a specific business.
