Hopkins Man Dies In Nodaway County Motorcycle Accident

A northwest Missouri man was killed when the motorcycle he was operating hit the passenger side of a pickup truck in extreme northern Nodaway County.

39 year old Brad Peve of Hopkins was pronounced dead at the scene, 1 mile north of Hopkins on Highway 148.

The accident occurred Saturday night shortly after sunset. The motorcycle was southbound while the pickup was northbound. The motorcycle crossed the center line and hit the passenger side of the pickup. Peve was thrown from the motorcycle.

The pickup truck driver, 60 year old Glenda Wetzel of Bedford, Iowa, attempted to avoid the collision but the pickup remained in the northbound lane.

Ms. Wetzel was not reported hurt. The motorcycle was demolished. The pickup received extensive damage. Both people were wearing safety devices.
