State Fair Community College sophomore guard Kevin Punter, a National Junior College Athletic Association first-team All-American, has signed with the University of Tennessee.

Punter, who starred at Salesian High School in New Rochelle, New York, earned a McDonald's High School All-American nomination in 2011 after averaging 28 points per game. As a sophomore at State Fair, he averaged 20.3 points per game. Shortly after the Roadrunners season ended, he committed to Missouri, and then-head coach Frank Haith. However, despite hosting a "signing ceremony" in Sedalia, he never faxed the signed document to MU.

After Haith left for Tulsa, Punter reopened his recruitment and visited the University of Tennessee campus in Knoxville over this past weekend, signing with new Volunteers head coach Donnie Tyndall. In an interview with the Times Free-Press, he cited familiarity with Tennessee assistant coaches Al Pinkins, Adam Howard, and Chris Shumate as among his reasons for choosing UT.
