Trenton Middle School Students Receive High Marks At Music Festival

The Trenton Middle School instrumental music students received the top rating of 1 for 20 different performances during a music festival at Macon Saturday.

They included the 7th and 8th grade band in the large ensemble category.

Three Trenton students were named the top performer in the room where they were judged, soloists Emma Gilham on marimba, Ella Leinenger on flute, and Claire Utley on alto sax. Each of them earned a rating of I.

In addition to the marimba solo, Ella Gilham also received a rating of I for her clarinet solo.

Other Trenton soloists receiving a rating of I were Hunter Beasley, Emily Bonta, Sarah Dryer, Tanner Franklin, Tyler Kidd, Alyssa Kosse, Claire Myers, Wyatt Neal, Elle Neal, Isaiah Renshaw, Jonathan Schlared, Madison Untiedt, and Nicholas Wattenbarger.

2 other Trenton entries received the top rating of I, a saxophone trio comprised of Tommy Johnston, Lawrence Link, and Wyatt Neal; and a woodwind quartet of Melea Farmer, Emma Gilham, Sarah Jordan, and Claire Myers.

Trenton Middle School students also received 10 ratings of II, which is the same as outstanding. They included 7 solos by Anakin Burkeybile, Codi DeLong, Hanna Ellis, LaTorrie Johnson, Sarah Jordan, Lawrence Link, Isaiah Renshaw.

Also receiving ratings of II were a trumpet duet of Colton Colston and Chase Marsh; a clarinet duet of Codi DeLong and Alyssa Kosse; and a mixed trio comprised of Codi DeLong, Alyssa Kosse, and Madison Untiedt.
