Four Students Chosen To Represent Grundy Electric At Leadership Programs

|Four area high school juniors have been chosen to represent Grundy Electric Cooperative at youth leadership programs this summer.|
Adam Kirby of Trenton and Rachelle Parks of Princeton earned trips to the Rural Electric Youth Tour at Washington D.C. June 13th through 19th. They were the top 2 finishers in the application and interview process.
The Rural Electric Youth Tour is a week long event where about 1,500 high school juniors nationwide travel to the nation's capital to learn about government, cooperatives, and rural electrification.
Hannah Williams of South Harrison of Bethany and Addison Leeper of North Harrison of Eagleville will represent Grundy Electric Cooperative at the Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience at Jefferson City July 9th through 11th.
The conference involves 85 delegates statewide learning about electric cooperatives, gaining leadership skills, and experiencing state government.
The Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Conference Experience at Jefferson City, and the Rural Electric Youth tour at Washington D.C. are open to current high school juniors attending a school in Grundy Electric Cooperative's service territory. Applicants from 8 school districts provided their grade point average, high school activities, community involvement, achievements, and desire to attend the youth tour.
The 4 persons chosen for the trips to Washington D.C. and Jefferson City based on a personal interview by independent judges.
