Nearly $70,000 is involved. It's to be returned to an interest bearing escrow account until a settlement is reached, or the State Tax Commission rules, on the amount of money owed by J.B. Wright Memorial Hospital's Physician's Group regarding its 2013 property assessment. The nearly $70,000 was paid under protest by the hospital.

The money was distributed to the State of Missouri, Grundy County, Trenton Township, the County Library, the County Nursing Home District, the County Health Department, the County Senior Citizen's Tax Fund Board, Families and Friends of the Developmentally Disabled, the Pleasant View R-6 school district, the City of Trenton and its Parks Department, and for surtax on businesses.

The State Auditor's office recommended the money be returned rather than reducing the next round of disbursements.

The money distributed was from 2013. Money from 2012 remained in escrow.

An agreement was reached last year regarding a property tax assessment involving Trenton Senior Housing, doing business as Adams Park Apartments.
