THS Tennis Falls 6-3 At Savannah

The Savannah Savages got the best of the Trenton Bulldogs in a boy's tennis dual on Tuesday afternoon, winning 6-3.

The varsity matches were close, but THS struggled in singles play, with only senior Wilson Utley finding the win column, 8-6 over Baxter Krumme (#2 singles).

Savannah's singles victories came from #1 Craig Helm (8-3 over Isaiah Swann), #3 Briley Krumme (9-8 over Alex Davis), #4 Chase Furgison (8-5 over Chanse Houghton), #5 Zane Beattie (8-6 over Jacob Marlay), and #6 Kennyn Sandy (8-3 over Leighton Fletchall).

Trenton found more success from doubles, with Swann and Davis combining for an 8-5 win over Helm and Krumme. Utley and Houghton teamed for an 8-4 win over Krumme and Beattie. Trenton's #3 varsity doubles team of Marlay and Fletchall fell 8-3 to Furgison and Sandy.

The win improves the Savages head-to-head record to 3-2, dropping Trenton to 2-2. The Bulldogs are next in action at Thursday's Marshall Tournament, with action starting at 9 o'clock in the morning.

The Savages and Bulldogs played six junior varsity doubles matches on Tuesday afternoon, with Savannah winning all six.
