Two Women Injured In Monday Accident Near Milan

Two women received what the highway patrol called minor injuries Monday night when their pickup ran off a Sullivan county road, struck an embankment and went through a fence. The location was two miles east of Milan.

The highway patrol report said the driver was 26 year old Bethany Shoaf of Milan. And her passenger was 16 year old Harley Sallee of Pollock. The report noted Ms. Shoaf was taken by private auto to Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan. Her passenger refused treatment at the scene.

The patrol quoted the driver was saying she had been eastbound on Paris Road when she tried to avoid an oncoming vehicle. Damage was moderate to the pickup truck. Both persons were using seat belts.
