|Trenton Middle School has qualified two entries for national competition in STAR events following the F-C-C-L-A state leadership conference this week. |
F-C-C-L-A is Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America.
STAR stands for students taking action with recognition.
Trenton middle school students Ashten Whitaker and Jayden Roeder received a gold award and are a national qualifier in the category of environmental ambassador. Another student, Werthen Gass, received gold and is a national qualifier in the category called focus on children. The national STAR events within F-C-C-L-A will be in San Antonio, Texas in July. (July 6-10)
Also receiving gold was a middle school trio of students in life event planning. Team members are Mykay Hurley, Ainsley Tolson, and Taylor Richman. Silver awards were received by Trenton middle school in chapter service project display by Kayley Griffin and food innovations by Brandi Eaton, Lauren Dolan, and Emma Norris.
Trenton High School STAR events include a silver award to Hannah Brinser and Alex Parrack for interior design.
At the state conference held in Columbia, Mason Hooyman of T-H-S led a region two planning meeting and accepted the best image award for the same region.
