Grundy County Tornado Rated An EF-2

National Weather Service teams have rated tornadoes Thursday afternoon in Grundy and north central Daviess Counties as producing EF 2 damage.

Further to the southwest in Daviess County there was EF 1 tornado damage. No injuries were reported.

The National Weather Service identified 3 tornado tracks, all from the same supercell thunderstorm.

The 1st was a little over 9 miles, stretching from east of Weatherby, to about 4 miles southwest of Jameson, producing EF 1 damage. The width was 200 yards.

The 2nd tornado track was about 3 miles, and produced EF 2 damage, just north of Jameson. The width was 100 yards.

The 3rd track was listed by the National Weather Service, as about 13 miles from the Crowder State Park area to northeast of Tindall, causing heavy damage to residences near Tindall. The Weather Service said the maximum width of that tornado was about 500 yards.

The EF scale goes from 0 to 5 with 5 being the worst.
