Accident Near Tarkio Injures Two

A car driven by an Albany resident overturned east of Tarkio early yesterday, injuring 2 persons.

A passenger, 18 year old Madison Stinemetz of Omaha, Nebraska was taken to Community Hospital at Fairfax before being flown by medical helicopter to Heartland Regional Medical Center at St. Joseph. The highway patrol said she had serious injuries.

The driver, 20 year old Christopher Barnes of Albany, was taken by private vehicle to the hospital at Fairfax with what the patrol called minor injuries.

The accident was 8 miles east of Tarkio on Highway 136. The patrol said the eastbound car went off the left side of the road, hit an embankment, overturned once, and came to rest on its top. The vehicle was demolished.

Both persons were wearing seatbelts.
