Laredo Board Of Education Meeting Report

Renewal contracts for teachers was among personnel action taken last night at a meeting of the Laredo R-7 Board of Education.

Probationary full time teachers whose contracts were renewed include Brooke Chapman in first grade, Cassy Carpenter in third and fourth grade, and Tammy Meeker in seventh and eighth grade. Probationary part-time teachers whose contracts were renewed include Elaine Williams as Librarian, Abby Herrold for physical education and health, and Tricia Sharp in art. The Laredo school reports Lendy Donoho has accepted a contract for a combined position of Title One teacher and guidance.

The board of education approved the new teacher evaluation plan.

The Laredo board accepted a mowing bid from Brewer and Ireland of Trenton at a cost of 120 dollars per mowing this season.

Eighth graders were approved for a field trip May 9th to St. Louis to visit the Six Flags theme park and the arch. Among others: fifth and sixth graders take a field trip to the Barton campus in Trenton March 26th; pre-kindergarten through second grade take a field trip to the Shatto Dairy near Osborn April 16th. Third through eighth graders visit the federal reserve bank and Union Station in Kansas City May 6th. Family reading night is scheduled April 3rd at 6:30 at Laredo School.

Reports or updates were given regarding propane, the April 8th levy vote, security cameras, the budget, and Missouri school board association policies.
