Chillicothe Police Officer Arrested On Multiple Charges

One person was arrested yesterday at Chillicothe stemming from the Livingston County Sheriff's Department investigation into an alleged rape, sodomy, unlawful restraint, and supplying intoxicants to a minor.

40 year old Brent Allen Schade faces two counts from alleged incidents Monday night in the 300 block of Cherry Street in Chillicothe. Online court information shows his address as 311 Cherry Street.

Schade was identified in a sheriff's office news release as a police officer for the city of Chillicothe. Schade is now accused of first degree rape and first degree sodomy or the attempt to perform such acts. Sheriff Steve Cox said his department began an investigation Tuesday into reports of alleged forcible rape,forcible sodomy and two counts of supplying intoxicants to a minor.

Schade remains incarcerated in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail at Pattonsburg in lieu of 50 thousand dollars cash bond.

Sheriff Steve Cox said a second person of interest was identified this weekand officers were seeking that individual for questioning. He noted several people have already been interviewed and the investigation continues.

On line court records show Brent Schade also faces misdemeanor charges of hindering prosecution and tampering with physical evidence from an incident last August in Livingston County. Once those charges were filed in January, media sources reported Schade was placed on unpaid administrative leave from the Chillicothe Police Department.

Schade is to appear March 26th in the associate division of Livingston county circuit court. Each of the charges, including those of this week, were filed by a special prosecutor, Brady Kopek of Caldwell County.
